Forces video embeds contained in dropdowns to have a size --><style>.dropdownizer__dropdown iframe { width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; }<\/style>\n<p>For times when you\u2019d rather dictate than type, Mac OS X and Windows 10 will allow you to do so without paying for new software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for specific software dictation, Dragon Dictation is an excellent option\u2014come demo Dragon on one of AEO\u2019s computers before you purchase, or schedule regular times of use to avoid having to purchase anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To set up dictation on Mac:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose Apple menu &gt; System Preferences, then click Dictation &amp; Speech. Turn on Dictation, then choose from these Dictation options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT210539#enhanced\">Use Enhanced Dictation<\/a>.<\/li><li>Choose your language and dialect. All you need to do is start the program and then begin dictating. It\u2019s important to speak clearly, and it works best to speak in complete sentences. Keep in mind that punctuation isn\u2019t automatically added when you dictate text, so you have to tell the computer where to add punctuation. The Speech Tutorial has a great primer on the ins and outs of dictating text.
