The heritage months our office organizes are below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"heritage-month-programs-include\"><strong>Heritage Month Programs include:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Asian American &amp; Pacific Islander Heritage Month (May)<\/li><li>Black History Month (February)<\/li><li>Latine Heritage Month (September 15\u2013October 15)<\/li><li>Native American &amp; Indigenous Peoples\u2019 Heritage Month (November)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Asian American\/Pacific-Islander&nbsp;Heritage Month (APHM)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically recognized nationally in May, our College celebrates this month in April.&nbsp;Asian American\/Pacific-Islander Heritage Month is a celebration of Asian Americans&nbsp;and Pacific Islanders history and contributions in the United States.&nbsp;The cultures celebrated in this month include those from all of the Asian continent and the Pacific islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Black History\/Heritage&nbsp;Month (BHM)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Black History\/Heritage Month, or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by Black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Latine\u00a0Heritage Month (LHM)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Latine\u00a0Heritage Month, also known as National Hispanic Heritage Month is nationally celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Native American &amp; Indigenous Peoples' Heritage Month (NAIPHM)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Native American &amp; Indigenous Peoples\u2019 Heritage Month, is nationally celebrated each year in November, by celebrating the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Native and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In appreciation and celebration of historically underrepresented groups, the Jeh Vincent Johnson ALANA Cultural Center collaborates with student leaders, student organizations, and campus partners to host month-long observances or one-off cultural events.
