I am writing to let you know that while Safety and Security staffing numbers are reduced, we remain on duty around the clock.&nbsp;&nbsp;Our 24\/7 Campus Response Center and patrols remain operational during this public health emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unless an emergency prevents social distancing, in an effort to keep all on campus safe we are following the social distancing directives from the Governor\u2019s office. Whenever possible, we are taking reports over the telephone. We are screening all calls for potential infectious illness and communicating to emergency responders accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should you develop symptoms of cough, fever, and chest pain and are in need of assistance during regular business hours YOU MUST stay in your room and call the Health Service <a href=\"tel:+18454375800\">(845) 437-5800<\/a> (or 911 if in need of an ambulance) and ask to speak to a nurse.&nbsp;&nbsp;The nurse at the Health Service will conduct a phone interview and will give appropriate directions. Additional concerns or inquiries may be directed to the Health Service by emailing them at Health@vassar for questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For additional information on COVID-19 and how to protect yourself and your community please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.cdc.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the state-mandated reduction in staff on campus the Town of Poughkeepsie Police would like you to know they too remain on patrol and operational around the clock. They continue to respond to emergency calls 24\/7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you observe unsafe\/criminal\/suspicious activity call Safety &amp; Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, be wary of coronavirus fraud schemes. There have been increased reports of new phone, email, and website scams that could lead to monetary loss, identity theft, data loss, or computer infection.
