Forces video embeds contained in dropdowns to have a size --><style>.dropdownizer__dropdown iframe { width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; }<\/style>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vassar Campus Community Nominated Prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>OCEL Social Justice Award <\/strong>honors students of the Vassar community who have demonstrated compassion, courage, and leadership in their commitment to social justice and social change. The OCEL Social Justice Award recognizes students whose activism and advocacy uplifts those most impacted by injustices and strives to create a more inclusive and equitable community of belonging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Frances Aaron Hess \u201953 Award&nbsp;<\/strong>is made possible by a gift from an alumna who was a tireless volunteer in her community. The award is to a student (or students) who has\/have made significant contributions as volunteer\/s in the community beyond Vassar\u2019s gates. The Award includes a financial contribution made by Vassar College to an organization of the recipient\u2019s choosing (typically the organization where the student volunteered). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Wendy Rae Breslau Award<\/strong>\u00a0provides an annual citation and prize to one or more Vassar students completing their sophomore year who, by their words and actions during the current year, have exhibited outstanding concern for the welfare and well-being of their peers and society in general.\u00a0The award will take into account contributions made through both curricular and extracurricular activities or a combination of both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Partner Nominated Prizes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Helen Miringoff Prize<\/strong>:&nbsp;In 1984, Vassar College established the Helen Miringoff Award to be awarded at Commencement&nbsp;to a student whose community-engaged learning project or community involvement has made a&nbsp;substantial contribution to an agency or to the community.
