Forces video embeds contained in dropdowns to have a size --><style>.dropdownizer__dropdown iframe { width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; }<\/style>\n<p>Prior to selecting recipients each year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/offices.vassar.edu\/community-works\/committee\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"178\">Community Works Committee<\/a> encourages College employees and students to nominate worthy agencies located in the Hudson Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2026 GRANT RECIPIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.briellegracebcf.org\/\">BRIELLE GRACE BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION<\/a> is a small local charity that serves those diagnosed with breast cancer by providing financial support for medical bills. They also fund mammograms for early breast cancer detection and donate to New York research facilities. The Foundation provides services to local recipients through fundraising events, donations, and grants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ca-core.org\">CHICANO ORGANIZING &amp; RESEARCH IN EDUCATION (CORE)<\/a> was Founded in 2004 by former MEChA students and is dedicated to understanding and elevating the challenges and pride of the Chicano\/Latino community, particularly in educational environments. They unapologetically work to uplift Chicano\/Latino, immigrant, and undocumented students through their programs and resources, as part of the decades-long movement for Chicano solidarity and empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dutchesspride.org\/\">DUTCHESS COUNTY PRIDE CENTER<\/a> is a safe place for members of the LGBTQ+ community in Dutchess County including LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, and their families and allies to feel comfortable and free to express themselves. Their goal is to support, educate, and advocate through outreach, support groups, and social events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dutchessoutreach.org\/\">DUTCHESS OUTREACH INC.<\/a> has operated emergency food access and relief programs in Dutchess County for more than 50 years. Food Access Centers like Dutchess Outreach continue to help fill in the gaps that individuals and families face in fulfilling their most basic needs that have been exacerbated by increasing income inequality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fallkillcreativeworks.org\/about-fallkill\">FALL KILL CREATIVE WORKS<\/a> runs two studio spaces in Poughkeepsie, NY: The Clay Studio and The Glebe House. Their mission is to foster creativity and community through accessible art and craft education. Fall Kill Creative Works is committed to equity and removing financial barriers, guided by generosity in sharing knowledge and resources so that everyone can experience the joy of making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gracesmithhouse.org\/\">GRACE SMITH HOUSE<\/a> is a private nonprofit that provides residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence and their families. They offer shelter, individual\/group counseling, transitional housing, court accompaniment advocacy, transportation, preventive education and more to residents of Dutchess County, NY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hudsonriverhousing.org\">HUDSON RIVER HOUSING<\/a> is dedicated to building strong, sustainable communities by developing and preserving quality affordable housing and helping families and individuals obtain and maintain housing through education, advocacy and support services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dutchessmediation.org\">MEDIATION CENTER OF DUTCHESS COUNTY<\/a> is a member of the New York statewide network of Community Dispute Resolution Centers and provides dispute resolution services to individuals, families, and groups. Through mediation and restorative justice practices, they help turn conflict into conversation. As a resource within the community, strengthening people\u2019s ability to be heard and find solutions, 97% of cases are facilitated by volunteers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ulsterimmigrantdefensenetwork.org\/\">ULSTER IMMIGRANT DEFENSE NETWORK<\/a> provides help with household needs including food, clothing, furniture, school supplies, and emergency financial aid; rent and utilities assistance; information and referrals for legal support, healthcare, social services, time-sensitive problems; response to ICE actions; support schools, students, and families with education information and advocacy; and case management for time-sensitive problems that fall outside the work of other teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vassarwarner.org\">VASSAR-WARNER HOME<\/a> has been a trusted name in senior care for over a century. They provide social adult day care services featuring recreational and cognitive activities to keep seniors\u2019 bodies and brains active. Seniors are engaged in the world and with each other.
