Forces video embeds contained in dropdowns to have a size --><style>.dropdownizer__dropdown iframe { width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; }<\/style>\n<p class=\"has-charcoal-color has-text-color has-link-color has-intro-font-size wp-elements-7679ba6b2b12bdcddeef647ddcbccf22 wp-block-paragraph\">The Data Advisory Group will tackle priority\/targeted projects based on key data strategy initiatives and current governance challenges in order to improve efficiencies, add transparency, promote data literacy, and gain further trust in the College data.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enhance Data Literacy and Accessibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and deliver training programs on data literacy, including data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create and maintain a central repository of data resources, documentation, and tools, accessible to the Vassar community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote awareness of data privacy and security best practices through workshops, online resources, and policy recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Improve Data Management and Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assess and recommend improvements to Vassar's data infrastructure, including data storage, retrieval, and integration systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and promote data governance policies and procedures that ensure data quality, integrity, and security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with CIS and other relevant departments to implement and maintain robust data management systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support Data-Informed Decision-Making<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide guidance and support to departments and individuals seeking to use data to inform decision-making in areas such as academic planning, student support, and resource allocation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate communication and collaboration among data users across the College to share best practices and promote data-driven culture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promote Ethical and Responsible Data Use<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and disseminate guidelines on the ethical use of data, including issues related to privacy, confidentiality, and bias.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review and advise on data-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ethical principles and relevant regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Foster Collaboration and Communication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Engage with external experts and peer institutions to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in data management and analytics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish regular communication channels with key stakeholders to share updates and solicit feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with other committees and working groups to address data-related issues and promote a coordinated approach to data management and use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:61px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please reach out to the <a href=\"mailto:dataadvisorygroup@vassar.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Data Advisory Group<\/a> if you have questions, would like to provide feedback, or have suggestions on ways we can all help improve Data Management practices at the College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1fo3pcQczmBy6grrOc-MAMXvuq5F0prlRbjQFQhU7EmA\/edit?usp=drive_link\">Data Advisory Group \u2192<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Data Advisory Group will tackle priority\/targeted projects based on key data strategy initiatives and current governance challenges in order to improve efficiencies, add transparency, promote data literacy, and gain further trust in the College data.&nbsp;
