Students may apply to study for a semester or a year within the United States or Canada. Such study may be to take specific coursework at another institution, to gain a different scholarly perspective, or to enhance particular intellectual interests. Students are eligible to study away in junior year or the first semester of senior year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dean of Studies Office oversees all domestic programs, which include both semester and year-long study away programs and Vassar's dual degree programs. Domestic study away includes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/dean-of-studies\/domestic-programs\/programs\/twelve-colleges\/\">Vassar-Twelve College Exchange<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/dean-of-studies\/domestic-programs\/programs\/dartmouth-thayer\/\">Dartmouth-Thayer Dual Degree program in Engineering<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/dean-of-studies\/domestic-programs\/programs\/historic-black-colleges\/\">Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/dean-of-studies\/domestic-programs\/programs\/without-financial-aid\/\">Study at other accredited institutions<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vassar.edu\/academics\/vassar-columbia-degree-program\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.vassar.edu\/academics\/vassar-columbia-degree-program\">Vassar-Columbia 4+1 BA\/MPH Dual Degree Program<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please review the information on your desired program as each program type has different deadlines, financial aid availability, program requirements and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any student who wishes to study away must have the support of their major department\/program and the formal approval of the Committee on Leaves and Privileges (CLP). To be eligible to apply for any domestic study away program, students must have:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>completed at least one full year's work at Vassar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>declare a major, chosen a major adviser, and discussed study abroad plans in detail with him\/her.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a recommended cumulative and major GPA 3.2 or higher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>completed a petition for Domestic Study Away.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Any student considering domestic study away should consult with&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ctrocino@vassar.edu\">Casey Trocino<\/a>, Assistant Dean of Studies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vassar supports students who wish to pursue academic studies at partnering institutions during the course of their undergraduate studies.
