In this activity, students have the opportunity to learn how to measure the temperature and dissolved oxygen of water. Through this exercise students will discuss the importance of oxygen for all life, including aquatic life. Students will learn the relationship between dissolved oxygen and temperature, and in turn how humans can impact these water qualities. Students will learn how pollution and habitat destruction can impact aquatic life, which will give them an introduction to how to help improve these environmental issues. It is recommended to complete this Extension before completing Extension 5.
