Forces video embeds contained in dropdowns to have a size --><style>.dropdownizer__dropdown iframe { width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; }<\/style>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Residential Teaching Fellows<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residential Teaching Fellows play essential roles in the Exploring Transfer Program. Together, they facilitate the students' successful passage through the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residential Teaching Fellows (RTF) will attend all classes. They will complete the readings and keep up with the assignments, hold evening office hours each weekday, and facilitate communication between the director, instructors, and students. Residential Teaching Fellows are also required to attend weekly faculty and staff meetings and also expected to participate in social events such as community dinners and field trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residential Teaching Fellows live in the dormitory to support students throughout the summer program and are an essential component of Exploring Transfer. They enrich the quality of the students\u2019 lives by brainstorming, planning and attending social activities, including weekend trips to off-campus destinations in the Hudson Valley. Each RTF will have a small learning community. The goal is to check in with students daily and hold weekly group meetings, including student session study breaks and office hours. RTFs are the eyes and ears of the program and act as liaisons between the students and director and faculty. Working as a Residential Teaching Fellow is a demanding but rewarding experience, and requires RTFs&nbsp; to demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills. In their advisory capacity, Residential Teaching Fellows will often face student-generated problems for which a prompt and creative solution is required, adhering to Vassar College policies and procedures. Typically these problems are performance-related and stem from difficulties the students face as they navigate the various intellectual, cultural and emotional challenges of the program. The Residential Teaching Fellows must, therefore, possess intellectual as well as emotional maturity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residential Teaching Fellows (RTFs) are graduates of the Exploring Transfer program or students\/graduates of Vassar College. Residential Teaching Fellows must possess the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demonstrated maturity and capacity to use sound judgment;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evidence of academic excellence;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marked proficiency in writing analytical essays;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strong communication and organizational skills and leadership ability;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Exploring Transfer Program;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valid driver's license;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Willingness to drive a 12 passenger van<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residential Teaching Fellows are required to be in residence full time (weekends included) June 23 - July 25, 2026 and receive one full day-off each week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RTFs should expect to attend two zoom orientations in late May\/early June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are due April 15th, 2026, with one letter of recommendation due April 24th, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Residential Teaching Fellows Residential Teaching Fellows play essential roles in the Exploring Transfer Program.
