Fellowships

Vassar College

Faculty are invited to nominate seniors for this prize by submitting a letter of nomination to the Office of Fellowships using the form below. Evidence of excellence in interdisciplinary study may include the student's GPA, coursework taken, and particular work submitted including, but not limited to, theses, term papers, projects. The ideal candidate will have more than coursework in multiple disciplines or in a multidisciplinary major, but would also have a demonstrated record of synthetic connections between disciplines or beyond that which is required of a multidisciplinary major.

This prize honors the memory of Ashish Patil ’08, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 27 after a nine-month battle with metastatic sarcoma. Ashish embodied what it meant to be a well-rounded and dedicated student who was devoted to fostering his intellectual growth. After completing his degree at Vassar with a major in history, Ashish completed a post-baccalaureate program in pre-medical and advanced sciences at Harvard. He was admitted into medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

If you would like to nominate a student please complete the form below by May 1.
