In addition to several supportive dimensions of the NCFDD, the organization also runs an intensive and highly acclaimed Faculty Success Program.&nbsp; It is a 12-week virtual boot camp that combines empirically tested methods, coaching, peer discussions, and accountability tools to help academics thrive in their careers and achieve a work-life balance.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its committed research support for faculty members, the Dean of the Faculty office has earmarked support for two more continuing Vassar faculty to participate in the Spring&nbsp; 2024 virtual boot camp, which will run from January 21st to April 13<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Past participating faculty find that the FSPs are most useful during a semester when they\u2019re also teaching, as the FSP encourages ways to organize the semester that allow room for scholarship while one is also teaching, rather than just during leaves or summers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award is intended for faculty who want to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Set achievable professional and personal goals and a realistic plan to meet them \u2022 Establish a consistent and sustainable daily writing routine&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Develop a publication profile that exceeds the institution's promotion criteria \u2022 Master best practices in academic time management&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Excel at collaborating effectively with colleagues and administrators \u2022 Enjoy a full life beyond campus&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The program is especially beneficial for faculty going through a career transition,&nbsp; including new faculty, pre-tenured faculty promotion, mid-career faculty promotion for full professors, and\/or faculty entering parenthood who are learning to balance the demands of work and family life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vassar can support a small number of faculty members to participate in the Spring 2024 Faculty Success Program.&nbsp; Eligible faculty must either be on multi-year contracts through&nbsp; 2024-25 or on a tenure-track line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Award Requirements&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants are expected to complete the 12-week program and participate in weekly calls and exercises.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the program, participants will be asked to facilitate a supportive faculty activity,&nbsp; such as a weekly or monthly writing group for faculty, or perhaps hosting one of NCFDD\u2019s virtual workshops for your department or program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Process&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, please complete a brief statement (1-2 pages) detailing the following: 1) Your Name, Title, and Department.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2) Session for which you are applying (Spring 2024).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2) What do you hope to gain from participating in the program and how that aligns with your professional goals?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3) A description of current efforts to contribute to diversity, equity, or inclusion in your department or broader campus community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4) A description of how you plan to \u201cgive back\u201d to other Vassar faculty after your participation in the program.&nbsp;<strong>Applications for the Faculty Success Program should be emailed to me&nbsp;
