On December 21, 2022, Governor Hochul signed the Pay Transparency Law, which goes into effect on September 17, 2023. The law requires all postings for jobs in the State of New York to include a salary or salary range that must represent the annual or hourly rate that the employer believes, in good faith, to be accurate at the time of posting.
As a result, beginning on September 17, all job postings will be updated to reflect the requirements of the new law. When determining the posted range for a given position, HR will work with Senior Officers and supervisors as appropriate to consider factors such as (but not limited to): contractual requirements; scope and responsibilities of the position; minimum education/training or experience requirements; budget; and other market and organizational considerations.
