On-Campus Counseling Services for Employees and Faculty

Walk-in Support Services on Tuesday and Wednesday

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselors will be on campus Tuesday and Wednesday to provide in-person grief counseling for employees and faculty impacted by the tragic passing of Avery Kim.

Each day, there will be a blend of group and individual sessions to allow individuals to access different formats of support. Individuals who are interested in accessing this resource can go to the meeting room locations listed below. Individual sessions will be held in a nearby breakout room location, but please go to the listed locations to check in with the on-site counselor.

Please remember that everyone experiences grief in different ways and paces. We recognize that these times may not work for everyone or meet the needs you may have over time. For those who are unavailable during these times or would prefer to meet virtually with a provider, please reach out to the resources listed below:

  • Employees have access to free grief support from Employee Assistance Program (EAP) by calling 1-(800) 624-5544.
  • Employees may also schedule free and unlimited phone or video counseling sessions through TelaDoc/HealthiestYou by calling 1-(866) 703-1259.
  • In addition, Dutchess County Behavioral Health is aware of Vassar’s needs and offers confidential, 24x7 mental health support services, as described here.
