Vassar converted five traditional holidays, including Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr, Washington’s Birthday, Lincoln’s Birthday, Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day, and Veteran’s Day, that are celebrated on a date determined by the College. For 2023–2024, they will fall on November 24 and December 26, 27, 28 and 29. For 2024-2025, they will fall on November 29 and December 26, 27, 30, and 31.

*Administrators may wish to use the Spring Holiday to observe another holiday or choose to take the Spring Holiday as a Personal Floating Holiday. Used either way, the time must be scheduled in advance with the supervisor. The Personal Floating Holiday must be taken by the end of the fiscal year.

Hourly employees who may be required to work on holidays are compensated according to contract requirements or policies and procedures adopted by the College.

This is an anticipated schedule of holiday observances only and may be changed at the discretion of the College. Holidays are assigned as days off unless authorized by a supervisor.
