He is especially interested in how writers learn to move from uncertainty toward clearer claims; how readers, writers, and speakers develop through conversation; and how feedback can preserve writer agency while helping ideas become more precise, persuasive, and alive to an audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His teaching and scholarship encompass&nbsp;composition &amp; rhetoric, creative writing, and literary modernism. Across these areas, he emphasizes slow attention, interpretive patience, imagination, revision, and the ethical work of making meaning with others.
