Fours & Fives: Preschool

Enrollment: 16–18 children and three teachers.

Program Options:

  • 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
  • 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • 8:15 am to 4:00 p.m.
  • 8:15 a.m. to 5:00–5:15 p.m.

This preschool classroom provides a larger mixed age group experience, and is generally the child’s last year of nursery school before going to Kindergarten. The fours & fives curriculum capitalizes on the children’s increasingly sophisticated language, imagination, critical thinking, dramatic play, and social skills. Four and five-year-olds engage in construction, book making, story telling, cooking, science experiments, elaborate projects, emergent investigations, and campus field trips. These kinds of learning opportunities give children the deep experience in thinking, listening, collaborating, and meaning making that sets the foundation for academic success.
