Dean of the College Carlos Alamo-Pastrana is responsible for those offices which assist students with their academic and their non-academic lives at Vassar. The directory of offices that work in cooperation with the dean can help you find the appropriate resource to help solve your problem or address campus concerns. The Dean of the College student interns are also available to hear any complaints you may have.

The Office of the Dean of the College was established in 1994 to provide a more comprehensive and integrated approach to student services, both academic and social. The dean of the college oversees and coordinates the activities of the Dean of Studies, the Dean of Student Living and Wellness, administrative services that directly impact the quality of student life, and offices that support and facilitate extracurricular activities.

The Student Assistant to the Dean of the College acts as a liaison between the student body and multiple areas of Vassar’s administration. The Dean’s assistant also sits on multiple campus advisory committees and works on special assignments throughout the academic year. Students with concerns, complaints, questions, and suggestions pertaining to any issue within the campus community are encouraged to email the Dean’s assistant or to stop by during their office hours.
