Institute Site Activity 10/24–10/30/22

Update 10/26
The sitework contractor encountered rock on the site. The area of rock is at the north end of the institute building near the hill on the Alumnae Lawn. An excavator with a hammer will be used for the removal starting tomorrow. It's expected that the removal will take 2-3 days.

Sitework which includes excavation for footings/foundations for the Institute will continue. Compaction and vibration has been completed at the West end of the site. At the location of the Institute foundations there may be intermittent compaction activities.

The necessary site prep for the geothermal wells will continue such as building a berm around the site specific well areas.

Please use the Project Hotline number that was set up to handle any construction activity concerns at the site. The reason for this is the calls go directly to the Project Superintendent who is on site and can assess and evaluate any safety or other concerns in real time.

The number is (845) 790-9210.

Please also use the email address instituteproject@vassar.edu for any correspondence or concerns.
