Constitution Day 2020
Did you know that September 17 is Constitution Day?
On this date in 1787 the U.S. Constitution was signed by President George Washington and the Constitutional Delegates at Philadelphia.
In 2020, the National Constitution Center marks the day by awarding its annual Liberty Medal to the Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. You can watch the historic event live this evening at 6:30PM EDT online at the following link: https://constitutioncenter.org/liberty-medal
Can’t make it? No worries -- the event will be posted for later viewing!
Other ways to mark the occasion:
Tour an online exhibition of historic documents--including a draft of the Constitution--presented by the Vassar College Libraries at My Dearest Friend: Letters of John and Abigail Adams From the Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society
