All-Gender Housing

Incoming first-year students should indicate “yes” on the ‘Gender Fluid Housing' option on their first-year housing application. A member of the Office of Residential Life will reach out and work directly with the student in order to understand their housing needs. First-year students can also use the ‘Roommate Group' option to select a roommate of their choice. Please note that by default, first-year students are placed into rooms with one or more roommates of the same-sex, as listed in the housing system. 

Upper-class students can self-select any suitemates/housemates/roommates to live with, regardless of their gender identity. 

Every bathroom in all Vassar residential houses, unless otherwise designated, is All-Gender.
