Resources for Writers

Below you will find a limited list of possible resources, some offering free services, that might be of use in your scholarly writing practice. If you know of other potential resources, please reach out to the Faculty Director of Research Development, who maintains the list.

• Manuscript Works: This site is run by freelance editor Laura Portwood-Stacer; she offers a number of services, some paid and some free, and has a newsletter you can subscribe to.
• NCFDD: Vassar is an institutional member, which entitles all faculty to access to many free services; register through the website.
• Helen Sword: Some free resources and a newsletter, writing coaching, and workshops run by author and writing facilitator Helen Sword.
• Scholars to Storytellers: Services geared primarily to more senior faculty interested in moving to trade publications; administered by John Ghazvinian; primarily paid services.
