The Writing Center

From the Vassar College Mission: “The College makes possible an education that promotes analytical, informed, and independent thinking and sound judgment; encourages articulate expression; and nurtures intellectual curiosity, creativity, respectful debate and engaged citizenship.”

Reading and writing are the twin pillars of a liberal arts education. The Vassar Writing Center supports all students in cultivating the skills and habits of mind that enable effective and empathetic communication. We empower readers, writers, and speakers to develop their own rhetorical processes and hone their unique perspectives as they engage in rigorous intellectual inquiry and the creation of knowledge across disciplines.
