Overview

This toolkit maps how four-year institutions can deepen their commitment to community college students, the most vulnerable learners in the higher education ecosystem.

Exploring Transfer is an opportunity to build the confidence, agency, and navigational capital of community college students so that they do not under match when considering transfer. It has shown to dramatically impact completion outcomes for participants.

ET supports academically strong students, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence in the participants. Additionally, the strongest programs will incorporate a team-teaching model, demonstrating that effective learning and knowledge acquisition can be collaborative and relational.

The elements offered in this toolkit should be seen as adaptable to the needs and resources of each institution. If you would like more information or would like to schedule a consultation for designing a program at your institution, please contact et@vassar.edu.
