Rachel Gellert

Rachel Gellert (she/they) is the Director of the Support, Advocacy, and Violence Prevention Office at Vassar College. As SAVP Director, Rachel provides survivor-centered support and advocacy to individuals impacted by sexual violence and relationship abuse, oversees campus prevention efforts, and works closely with the SAVP team on events and programming throughout the year. Rachel holds a Masters of Public Administration and B.A. in Politics and Social Policy from New York University. Her professional and educational experience is primarily focused on sexuality education, survivor advocacy, and support for LGBTQIA+ young people. Rachel has provided education and advocacy-based support for students in public health, government, medical, nonprofit, and K-12 settings. They are passionate about direct service advocacy and macro culture shifts regarding consent, healthy relationships, and sex education. When Rachel isn’t talking about the importance of comprehensive, consent-based sex ed, you can find her biking, reading graphic novels, and hanging with her wife and cat. 

Allison Jasso

Allison Jasso (she/her) is the Program Coordinator/Survivor Advocate. As Program Coordinator, Allison is primarily responsible for coordinating the college’s violence prevention and response trainings and supervising peer education efforts facilitated by SAVP interns. As Survivor Advocate, Allison provides direct support to individuals impacted by sexual and interpersonal violence. Allison earned her BA in Political Science with minors in Communication and Asian Studies from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska. While a student at Doane, Allison became a peer educator with her university’s violence prevention program and found a deep passion for prevention education. Prior to Vassar, Allison worked as the Violence Prevention Coordinator at Williams College. In her free time, Allison enjoys listening to music, judging speech tournaments, cooking, and unintentionally collecting Pilot G-2 pens.
