Resumes and Letters
Resumes, CVs, cover letters, thank you letters, and other related correspondences are critical elements of the job or internship search process and even the graduate school application process. Whether you are a first-time resume writer or seasoned cover letter author, the CCE has a variety of resources to support you in crafting the best possible documents:
Resume & CV and Communications Guides
To get started with resume and cover letter writing, take a look at our popular Resume & CV and Professional Communications guides. Here, you’ll find sample resumes and letters based on real Vassar students and lots of great advice to get started.
Resume, CV, and Cover Letter Critiques
We strongly recommend having your resume, CV, and cover letters reviewed before sending them out. Once you have a draft, schedule an appointment through Handshake to meet with a counselor or have a drop-in appointment with a Peer Educator for feedback. If you are bringing in a cover letter, please bring a copy of the job or internship description or have it available to view on your laptop.
Not on campus? Feel free to email your document(s) to cce@vassar.edu in MS Word or Google Docs (with editing privileges allowed) formats, and a staff member will get back to you. Please be aware that we do not review pdfs since they do not allow direct edits.
