Service Desk

Online Support

Members of the Vassar Community are invited to visit our Service Desk Online (Vassar username and password required) for access to requestable services, online support, self-help solutions, and more. In-Person in the College Center

Computing and Information Services has an end-to-end Service Desk in the College Center, North Atrium. This location is the one and only IT Service Desk location on campus, centrally located for your convenience, offering computer support, computer hardware repairs, and Vassar ID card services. The CIS Service Desk provides technical support to all faculty, staff, and students of Vassar College. Vassar Community members can visit Service Desk Online to learn more.

Google Apps for Education

Vassar College is proud to be a Google Apps for Education campus. Google for Education provides our community with emailcalendardrive, and more as an integrated communication and collaboration solution.

Moodle

Moodle is the Learning Management System (LMS) at Vassar College. Each semester, a new (empty) Moodle site is created for each course being offered. Each of those sites is accessible by the students registered for the corresponding course. Moodle provides a place for instructors to post readings and other documents; a way for students to upload assignments to instructors; an online gradebook; and tools for creating discussion forums, quizzes, surveys, image galleries, etc.

LinkedIn Learning

Provided by Vassar College at no charge to Vassar students, faculty, and staff, the LinkedIn Learning library offers access to more than 1,000 self-paced training courses. Get comprehensive training in audio, video, photography, graphic design, web design, business, and development from expert instructors, 24/7.

eduroam

eduroam (education roaming) allows students, faculty, and employees from participating institutions to obtain secure internet connectivity at any eduroam hotspot in the world, including Vassar College. Use your institution's email address and password to authenticate.

Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Vassar Identity and Access Management (IAM) works with other systems (Banner, Moodle, Google, etc.) to sort out roles based on the system rules we grant access to these systems accordingly, greatly simplifying and automating the process.

IAM is your source for password management, requesting resources, or requesting sponsored accounts.

Banner Administrative System

The Banner Administrative System is comprised of several functional modules: General, Student, Advancement/Alumni, Finance, Human Resources/Position Control, and Financial Aid. Banner is used to facilitate the tracking of prospective students through Advancement, hiring of employees, processing of purchase orders and invoices and payroll processing.

Banner Online

Banner Self Service (also known as Banner Online) gives members of the Vassar Community access to their personal records such as payroll information, address, and benefits. It is also used to enter and approve student and staff timesheets. Faculty use Banner Online to submit final grades. Budgets and Requisition processing are also available to authorized personnel through Banner Online.

VCash

VCash is a prepaid debit account associated with your Vassar ID Card which can be used both on and off-campus. VCash is not associated with a meal plan. Funds can be deposited online.

VPrint

VPrint is Vassar College's print management system. VPrint printers/copiers are multi-function devices capable of large volume printing, duplexing, copying, and stapling. They are accessible to students, faculty, and employees of the college.

Guest WiFi Access

Anyone visiting Vassar College that would like access to WiFi will need to request access or have access requested for them. If you have a guest visiting and would like to create their access before they arrive, you can do so by following the steps to sponsor a guest. Otherwise, the guest can self-register upon their arrival.

For Guest: Self-Registration

  • Connect to the Vassar WiFi network
  • Agree to the Responsible Use Policy and click Start
  • Enter your first and last name.
  • Please choose a contact method for a verification code
  • Enter the verification code that you received via email or text message
