Human Resources

Vassar College

Welcome to Vassar!  We look forward to having you join us!

I-9 Appointment with HR: In your employment letter from Human Resources, take note of your scheduled I-9 appointment date and time. Bring your original I-9 proof of identity and employment eligibility document(s) at the scheduled time.

If you are able to meet before your scheduled appointment or need to reschedule, call (845) 437-5820.

ID Card forms will be provided during your onboarding appointment. ID Cards will be processed at the Service Desk located at the College Center in Main Building.

Onboarding in Workday and Login Credentials: You will complete your employment onboarding paperwork using Vassar's Workday HR information system.

  1. Before your start date, you will receive two emails to your personal email account with Workday log-in instructions and your temporary Workday password. You must complete the pre-employment process in Workday before your hire date.
  2. After your I-9 appointment with Human Resources, you will receive instructions via email on how to set up your Vassar login credentials. You’ll use these credentials to complete the onboarding process in Workday (e.g. tax forms and benefit elections), to access your pay records in Workday, to sign on to your Vassar email account, and to access other systems required to perform your job duties.

Register Your Vehicle: Members of the college community are permitted to have automobiles on the campus subject to regulations, which apply to all students, faculty, staff, and administration. Vassar Community vehicles must be registered with the college here. For more detailed parking rules and regulations, click here.

New Hire Orientation: In your employment letter from Human Resources, take note of your scheduled new hire orientation date and time. Instructions for orientation will be sent closer to the date. Orientation will include benefit information.

Technology: Supervisors and departments will try to have your space and technology ready for you on arrival. Vassar uses Google Mail and Google Calendar.

Members of the Vassar Community are invited to visit our Service Desk Online (Vassar username and password required) for access to requestable services, online support, self-help solutions, and more. Send email to servicedesk@vassar.edu.

Familiarize and Arrange Communications: You will be collaborating closely with your supervisor and department members in the coming days. They will be able to answer questions related to your department, including how the work in your area aligns with the goals of the College in support of our mission. You will meet colleagues and discuss specific procedures and expectations for your position.
