Below is a “to do” list to help you prepare for your arrival on campus in August. It is crucial that you understand the whole financial process and meet all appropriate deadlines.

  • Submit all requested Financial Aid application materials and required documents. Check for outstanding documents on the Financial Aid Portal. Select Menu > Documents & Messages.
  • Complete the Outside Scholarship Form if you received any scholarships, tuition benefits, or awards from an organization other than Vassar.
  • Complete the Vassar Scholarship Survey if you received Vassar Scholarship in your financial aid offer.
  • Complete the Federal Direct Loan requirements if accepting a Federal Direct loan:
  • Review the Health and Tuition Insurance Policies. Complete a waiver form for each policy you wish to opt out of. Forms open on July 15th and are due August 12th (for health insurance) and August 30th (for tuition insurance).
  • Familiarize yourself with the billing process and prepare to pay your bill (due August 10th):
  • Apply for a work study job. JobX (job application board) will open in mid-August for eligible students. Visit the Student Employment Office website for more information.
  • Start budgeting: create a CashCourse account.

Important: It is important that you check your Vassar email regularly, even before you arrive on campus. Information and reminders pertaining to missing documents, payment plans, insurance waivers, etc. will be sent to you at that address.
