Mission and Values
Our mission is to grow an early childhood community that cherishes and respects children today, in the here and now, while planting seeds for a joyful and purposeful tomorrow.
Values
Our values are rooted in belonging, trust, play, care, participation, justice, nature, and inquiry.
- Belonging is the seed of identity and of growing a loving, thriving community. Children belong. Families belong. Educators belong.
- Trust is our belief in children and faith in human development. We trust children and one another.
- Play is how children learn through wonder, joy, agency, and deep research. We play together.
- Care is the ethical encounter with one another embedded in the rituals of everyday life. We care for one another.
- Participation is the foundation of citizenship and collaboration. We actively engage and contribute.
- Justice is the work we do to create communities where everyone belongs. We solve problems together and seek to do what’s right.
- Nature is our interdependence and reciprocity with all of life. We are in a relationship with the earth, plants, insects, and animals on our planet.
- Inquiry is our continual and emergent quest to make meaning. We ask questions and approach life with the curiosity of a child.
