Travel Health Services

The Vassar College Health Service offers health consultations, physicals and immunizations for international travel. Immunization requirements will be tailored to your planned destination(s), past medical history, and immunization history. Please note that some immunizations require multiple visits for completion, therefore planning ahead is recommended. Another consideration is that it takes about four weeks after vaccination to develop immunity. Traveling abroad is exciting, but the process can be stressful. Early preparation can help to alleviate some of that stress. We will provide you with pertinent information about the area to which you are traveling and assist with preparations for a safe and healthy trip.

We encourage you to research the Center for Disease Control website for your particular destination(s) before making your appointment for your immunizations. Use the CDC website to find your destination(s) and travel health recommendations.

The following immunizations are currently offered in the clinic:

Several travel immunizations are only available off-campus. These include Japanese Encephalitis, Yellow Fever, Rabies, and Oral Typhoid. They are available at these local locations:

To make an appointment, call (845) 437-5800 during office hours. If you cannot make it at the scheduled time, please call and notify us.

There is a charge for all immunizations administered in the clinic and will be charged to VCash. Please see billing for further information. All travel consultations and physicals are free of charge.
