Gynecological Service Billing
There are no charges for gynecological visits in the health clinic (this is covered by the health fee paid with your tuition).
If you have the student health insurance offered through the college:
Charges for contraceptive medications dispensed from the clinic (if available) will be charged using VCASH at time of service. You may request a copy of an itemized bill to submit to the insurance company for reimbursement. You may also request contraceptive medications to be e-prescribed to a local retail pharmacy. You will then pay a copay at the pharmacy.
Charges for over-the-counter medications will also be charged using VCASH at time of service.
Lab work - the Health Service will submit laboratory services with insurance information provided to us during your visit. Please see medical clinic billing under "Lab Work" for details.
If you have concerns regarding cost of treatment or care, please discuss this with your provider or nurse at the time of your appointment for further assistance.

Please note:
Vassar College Health Service can not guarantee where lab bills or other insurance documents such as explanation of benefits (EOBs) will be mailed. This is especially important for patients who are concerned about documentation being sent to home addresses and who wish to keep their medical information private. We recommend that prior to having any billable procedures performed, any concerned patient should reach out to their insurance company directly to address these concerns.
