After Your Vassar Graduation
Many students do not go directly from college into a health professions graduate program. Some need to gain more health related experience, some want to get more research experience, others need coursework, and some just want a little breather before starting one of these programs and need time to prepare everything for the application.

Post Baccalaureate (Postbac) Programs
There are two primary types of postbac programs. These programs do not typically award a degree, but they may award a certificate. In addition to postbac programs there are a number of Master's degree programs that intended for individuals who ultimately would like to apply to a health professions program.
- Career Changing Programs: for people who need to meet the requirements to apply for medical school.
- Record Enhancing Programs: for people who want to enhance their academic record to be more competitive and gain a better grounding in the sciences.
For detailed information about types of programs visit the National Association for Health Professions Advisors Postbac Options page.
