Charges
Student Accounts is responsible for posting charges rather than assessing them. Student Accounts cannot add or remove Tuition, Mandatory Fees, Housing, Food Plans, or Course Fees. Adjustments must be made by the respective department. Please route inquiries as follows:
- Tuition: A student’s enrollment status determines the tuition charged. Enrollment is managed by the Dean of Studies.
- Housing & Food Plans: Assigned and updated by Residential Life. If you would like to apply for a food plan exemption, please complete the Exemption Form provided by Campus Dining.
- Department-Specific Charges: Fines/charges cannot be removed without explicit departmental approval. Students should contact the responsible department directly:
- Vehicle Registration & Parking: Campus Safety Parking
- Transportation Services: Campus Safety Transportation
- Dorm Damages & Summer Housing: Email Residential Operations Center and submit the Student Damage Appeal Form.
- Music Department Lessons: Music Lessons Info
- Chemistry Department: Macmillan Achieve or Damage Charges

- Student Health Insurance: Student Accounts posts the charge/waiver but does not administer or determine plan coverage. Direct all waiver and coverage questions to Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk or (800) 471-6936.
- Tuition Insurance: To file a claim, please initiate the process with Dean of Studies.
- Study Abroad: Both Vassar sponsored and approved programs are administered through Office of International Programs.
- Domestic Exchange Programs: The Dean of Studies Office oversees all domestic programs, which include both semester and year-long study away programs and Vassar's dual degree programs.
