Summer Break Student Employment Registration Reminder

If you received this email from Student Employment, you are eligible to apply for student employment during Summer Break 2025!

As an eligible student, job registration is now open and continues through Friday, 4/18/25 at 4:30 PM.  

The Summer Break work period is May 21st – September 1st. Most jobs will require you to work full time (37.5 hours per week), throughout the entire break. Any exceptions will be noted in the job description. Pay rate is $15.50 per hour for all jobs.

If you did not receive this email from stuemp@vassar.edu, you are unfortunately ineligible to apply for Summer Break jobs.There are limited positions available. International students on financial aid and students with high financial need will be given priority during the hiring process. 

Supervisors will hire their student employees; Student Employment does not place students during Summer Break.  All hiring should conclude by April 18th.  If hired, you are required to confirm your schedule with your supervisor and submit a Commitment Form no later than May 2nd.

Important notes:

  • If you will be on LEAVE for the Fall 2025 semester, you cannot work during the summer break. If your status changes to Leave after you have been assigned a position, you will need to stop working and leave campus.  We will be monitoring all student statuses.
  • Students are allowed up to two weeks of unpaid vacation time during the break with supervisor approval in advance.
  • Campus housing is available for students who work during summer break. For further information on break housing, please contact Residential Life.
    • Fall 2025 Study Abroad students should contact Residential Life to find out the date they must vacate on-campus housing.  If you do not have other housing and need to stop working early, it is your responsibility to inform your supervisor during your interview. 
  • Please DO NOT share or forward this email. If someone you know did not receive this email, it means they are ineligible for Summer Employment.
