Year-End Reminders for 2024-2025 Student Employees

Reminder: Be sure to take care of all year-end Student Employment Tasks before summer break!

  1. All student paychecks for the 5/12/2025-5/25/2025 pay period are scheduled to be sent to your permanent address listed in Workday if you do not have direct deposit.Use this form ONLY to request that your Paycheck be delivered to your Vassar Post Office Box and not sent to your permanent address as listed in Workday. **THIS REQUEST MUST BE COMPLETED BY DEADLINES STATED IN THE FORM.** 
    Do not complete the request form if you would like to have your check mailed to your permanent address as listed in Workday OR if you elect direct deposit. If you wish to update your permanent address as listed in Workday, let us know.
  2. Active student employees mustlog and submit all worked hours in Workday before they are removed from their Academic Year jobs.
    • All active student employees will be removed from their 2024-2025 Academic Year jobs in early June. All worked hours must be entered before you lose Workday access!
    • If you have worked hours that date back over 6 weeks that are not in Workday, please complete late time sheets and submit to Student Employment immediately.
      • For assistance completing late time sheets, please stop by our Office Hours.
  3. If you are leaving Vassar and your address changes before the end of 2025, please let us know as soon as possible so we issue your tax forms to the correct address.
    • Note: informing the registrar will NOT update your address in Workday, you must also let us know in order to receive your tax documents.

Reminders for Students with Summer Jobs

  1. If you are working remotely this summer, please remember all work must be completed in NY State. Remote work is not permitted if you have left New York.
  2. If you accepted a Summer Break job and have not yet submitted your Commitment Form, please be sure to meet with your supervisor and submit as soon as possible!
    • Note: Students in Summer jobs who are living on campus who will not reside on campus in Fall 2025 must vacate student housing by 8/3/25.
  3. If you are working during the Summer and have not yet elected Direct Deposit, we strongly encourage you to do so. You will need your bank information, account information, and routing number. Please be advised that it can take 1-2 payroll periods before your direct deposit goes into effect. Until your direct deposit is in place, your paychecks will be delivered to your Vassar mailbox.

FAQ as The Year Ends

  • When is the last day I can work this Academic Year?
    • Tuesday, May 20th! (Please be sure to communicate with your supervisor if you need any schedule changes during finals.)
  • When do Summer jobs start?
    • Summer jobs will be in session from May 21st through September 1st this year. Students may not work their Academic Year jobs during this time.
    • The minimum student wage for Summer 2025 will be $15.50 hourly.
  • What do I need to know for Fall 2025?
    • Registration will open to Work Study students in Mid-August. The Job Registration Calendar will be updated with exact dates over the summer.
