Career Education

Vassar College

Assessment and informational interviewing are two great career exploration tools. In addition, we recommend the following selected online resources:

Occupational Outlook Handbook

The Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by the US Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, contains a wealth of information about careers and occupations, including information about education requirements, salary, projected growth, and the day-to-day experience of working specific professions.

O*NET Online

The O*NET Online is a resource similar to the Occupational Outlook Handbook that also enables you to search for occupations by skill sets and more.

Firsthand’s Career Insider

Firsthand (formerly Vault Campus) is a comprehensive online career resource that includes downloadable Career Guides and Industry Guides for a wide variety of career fields.
