Career Kickoff
Each Fall the CCE hosts its annual Career Kickoff event. Career Counselors and Career Interns will be available to answer questions about the CCE resources and all things career-related. This year we will be featuring topics such as the job and internship search, fellowships, pre-health and pre-law, tapping into the alum network, and more!
Students from all class years are welcome!
RAFFLE! Stop by each table to increase your chances of winning great prizes, including “job/internship search survival kits,” Vassar swag, water bottles, and more!
Sophomore Career Connection (SCC)
Vassar’s Sophomore Career Connections is designed to introduce second-year students to the vast array of career options available to liberal arts graduates. Drawing on the expertise of one of Vassar’s very best career resources—our alums and parent mentors—we hope to help students complement their liberal arts education with industry-specific knowledge, tap into the extensive Vassar network, and focus on their professional development in a safe space. Making these connections will serve sophomores well as they begin to consider not only summer internship options, but life beyond Vassar.
SCC Website will be updated with event details, closer to the event date
Senior Week (Love your Life After Vassar!)
Every spring the CCE hosts “Love your Life After Vassar” to equip seniors with the resources they can use to prepare for life after Vassar. The week features daily lunch and learns, afternoon workshops/information sessions, industry nights, and a tabling event in the college center. The program is focused on helping Vassar seniors prepare to navigate life after Vassar and incorporates a number of topics including: job search basics, tapping into the hidden job market, personal finance/budgeting, renting an apartment, planning for graduate study, interviewing, and much, much more. The week also features daily drop-in hours reserved just for seniors, a LinkedIn photo booth, a business card-making station, and much more!
Life Design
Life Design Lab applies design thinking to tackling the "wicked" problems of life and vocational wayfinding. Developed at Stanford University, Life Design aims to provide resources, skills, and conversations to help students design the life that they want to lead. Topics include the integration of work and worldviews, ideation techniques, a portfolio approach to thriving, designing to increase balance and energy, and how to prototype all aspects of your life. Throughout the year, the CCE will be infusing the concepts learned at Stanford’s Life Design Institute into our workshop and program offerings.
Note: All students are welcome to attend any of the workshops and stop by our tables but the information will be particularly useful to seniors as they prepare for life after Vassar.
