Paid Leave for COVID-19 Ending

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, New York State had enacted a law requiring covered employers to provide paid sick leave and job-related protections to their employees subject to a COVID-19 mandatory or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation (COVID-19 PSL).

The COVID-19 PSL Law will expire July 31, 2025.

As of August 1st, 2025 you will no longer be required to inform Health Services that you will be out due to COVID and any used time away from work due to COVID will be paid as you would any other short term illness.  Should you require an extended leave to recover from the illness, please contact the Benefits Department benefits@vassar.edu.
