Trauma-Informed Yoga
Day/Time/Location: Fridays, 4:00PM-5:00PM, Pratt House Meditation Room (second floor)
Facilitator: Robin Shutinya

This movement-based, weekly space is for students looking to explore the connection between mind and body and strengthen their sense of agency, which can be compromised as a result of trauma. TCTSY, or Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, is the first yoga-based empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The forms and movements do not emphasize external expression, appearance, or receiving the approval of an external authority. The focus is on the internal experience of the participant.
As a TCTSY Facilitator (TCTSY-F), Robin is certified through the Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga 300-hour program based on protocol developed, studied, and empirically validated by the Center for Trauma and Embodiment.
If interested, please contact VCCS at (845) 437-5700, or email Robin at robinshutinya@vassar.edu to learn more. Registration with the facilitator is required in order to join.
