Teletherapy Videoconference Instructions
To protect our students’ and counselors’ health and safety due to COVID-19, all students seeking support at the Vassar College Counseling Service will be scheduled for a remote, HIPAA-compliant videoconference through the Zoom platform rather than be seen in person.
Prior to your videoconference appointment time, take the following steps:
- Locate a confidential and private space where you will not be interrupted and your conversation will not be overheard. Consider creating white noise outside the doorway, and use headphones or earbuds.
- Test your speakers and video to make sure they’re working.
- Use the biggest screen size available to you (i.e. a laptop rather than a phone). If possible, use your personal computer for security purposes.
- Clear your internet by closing out any programs you don’t need.
Vassar College Counseling Service will send an email prior to your appointment with information about how you can digitally complete your paperwork.
