Poughkeepsie Pride Parade and Festival

Poughkeepsie Pride Parade and Festival Saturday, June 8th

The Poughkeepsie Pride Parade and Festival will be held Saturday June 8th and a number of Vassar's students, faculty and employees are joining together to arrange a Vassar presence at this important event.

The parade and festival have been a joyous, celebratory, family friendly occasion since the Dutchess County Pride Center initiated the event in our county a few years ago.  It has also been a critical path to raise awareness with our local legislators and to provide support and affirmation to the LGBTQ community.

Vassar Community members will be assembling on the library lawn at 10:00am for music, flags, and t-shirts. If you need transportation, we will have vans in front of Main to transport people to the parade. We will be leaving promptly at 10:40am.

If you want to meet us at the parade, find us on Market Street between the Bardavon and Main Street. Plan on it taking some extra time to get there. Some streets may be closed. We will begin assembling at 11:00am. The parade begins at noon and will end at Waryas Park. For more information about the parade, visit https://www.dutchesspride.org/pride-fest-2024-info
