About 20 percent of Vassar students, mostly juniors and seniors, live in apartments that offer an alternative to traditional residence hall living. The South Commons apartments, located on the southern edge of the campus, the Terrace Apartments (close to the center of campus), and the Town Houses (across the street from the main campus) are shared by groups of four or five students who do their own cooking.
