The Security System

All houses have a card-reader-controlled access system that validates Vassar ID cardholders before permitting entrance.

The College regulations require each student to possess and carry their Vassar ID card. The Vassar ID card must be used in order to gain building access. An individual must display their Vassar ID card when requested by a security officer, and lost Vassar ID cards must be reported to the Card Office, (845) 451-3333.

The security system is designed for your protection; vandalism will not be tolerated. Students identified as vandalizing or damaging exterior building doors or locks, room locks or doors, security alarm systems, emergency telephones, or other portions of the security system are subject to disciplinary action and will bear the cost of repair.
